This informal session on "getting published" will answer questions about how to publish your scholarly work in today's competitive publishing environment. Topics will include, but not be limited to, how to size up publishers, preparing your book prospectus, honing your dissertation, what to expect when your prospectus and manuscript are received by a publisher, the review process, and what to expect if your work is accepted for publication. We will also give advice on how to choose a journal for your work and what to expect after submission to a journal, including an open access journal. Lunch will be provided.
