3D printing is one of the hottest sectors in technology. It enables users to fabricate personal and scientific objects like never before. But before fabricating, users must create a 3D model built digitally using 3D CAD or acquired from the real world using 3D scanning. The UITS Advanced Visualization Lab has been working with 3D models and supporting advanced research in this area for more than a decade – well before 3D printers were mainstream. This session will detail the equipment and workflows available to the IU community to enable 3D scanning and printing.
