Please join us in the Libraries Screening Room on Saturday, November 10th, at 2:30pm for a screening of “Double Blind," sponsored by the Underground Film Series.

Double Blind (No Sex Last Night) (1996) Directed by Sophie Calle and Greg Shephard:
A generic fusion of the essayistic documentary and the road movie, inspired by the work of Chris Marker,Double Blind (No Sex Last Night) (1996) is an amalgamation of two synchronously recorded video diaries which document French conceptual artist Sophie Calle and American photographer Gregory Shephard’s journey by Cadillac across the United States. Exploring the concurrence of intimacy and alienation across subjective, cultural, and gendered lines, Double Blind is a blithely comedic and uncanny illustration of the gulfs that persist and, in some ways, define the dynamics of idyllic romance and the co-experience of companionship.

(Dir. Sophie Calle, Greg Shephard, 1996, 76 mins, DVD)
